I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream. In the dream, I heard “Titus Three Five, Titus Three Five,” over and over. I haven’t spent a lot of time in the book of Titus—and had kind of forgotten about it, so I didn’t know what the verse said until I looked it up this morning.
I feel like someone needs this reminder: We are never “good enough” on our own to earn our salvation. So if you’re waiting until you’re good enough, you’ll be waiting endlessly. If you think you can work your way into heaven, you’ll exhaust yourself. It’s not about us and our righteousness or lack thereof.
Some people think they are in good standing with God because of all the things they have done in His name or because of all of their works—or maybe because they are a big giver, but they don’t truly know Him.
Some have a personal relationship with Jesus but struggle every day—wondering if they are worthy, wondering if they are good enough, wondering if they have done enough.
Titus 3:5 reminds us His love reaches deeper than our past mistakes. His mercy will always be more than we deserve. We can’t earn something He gives freely. And He offers this gift to everyone.
He renews, He restores, He saves!
